Graduate & Professional Student Council (GPSC – pronounced “gyp-see”) is the “umbrella student government organization for Duke’s nine graduate and professional schools.” GPSC offers a number of programs, such as academics and grievances, basketball, community outreach, Green Team, student groups, student life, health insurance, a student survival guide, and student legal services.

GPSC Affiliated Groups including American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA), Association of Women in Business (AWIB), Black Graduate and Professional Student Association (BGPSA), Divinity Student Council, Duke Graduate & Professional Habitat for Humanity, Duke Taiwanese Student Association (Duke TSA), DukeOUT, Graduate Student Association of Iranians at Duke (GSAID), Latina/o Graduate Student Association (LGSA), Women in Science & Engineering (WiSE), etc.
Fraternity & Sorority Life, including 38 nationally affiliated chapters, the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Order of Omega, Panhellenic Association, and the Duke University Greek Advisory Council.
International House, or the I-House, has a motto of “Connect, learn, and grow” and aims to assists international students and their families with orientation and acclimation, including trainings and workshops (e.g., intercultural skills development program), Global Café (i.e., a weekly informal gathering Fridays 930-1030am), International Education Week, and assistance with logistical considerations, such as Visas, health care and medical insurance, transportation, and living essentials (e.g., banking, children, internet, etc.)
University Center Activities and Events supports the more than 400 registered student programming groups for student life through leadership development, event planning, travel funds, etc.
