What were you looking for in a residency program?
Academic program with strong operative experience. Diverse patient population. 

What are your research and clinical interests at this time?
In-vivo measurements of cartilage deformation. Sports injury biomechanics.

There are many people who have been excluded from the healthcare system for various reasons such as historic discrimination, institutionalized racism and socioeconomic factors. As the new generation of physicians, we have a responsibility to serve these populations and address their health concerns.

What advice do you have for incoming residents?
There are many people who have been excluded from the healthcare system for various reasons such as historic discrimination, institutionalized racism and socioeconomic factors. As the new generation of physicians, we have a responsibility to serve these populations and address their health concerns.  Remember this as you begin your career and join our team. 

About Duke University and Durham

Where did you choose to live, and why?
I live in North Durham, about 7 minutes from the hospital. I like to be able to get to work quickly in the morning. There are a lot of great places in Durham to live, so you cannot really go wrong..  

What do you like to do outside of medicine?
Play jazz saxophone.
