We would like to congratulate PGY-4 resident, Kwadwo Adu Owusu-Akyaw, MD, who was selected to join the J. Robert Gladden Society Board of Directors as a Resident Board Member. The mission of the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society (JRGOS) is to increase diversity within the orthpaedic profession and promote the highest quality musculoskeletal care for all people. It is named after James Robert Gladden, the first African-American individual to be certified in Orthopaedic Surgery.
The JRGOS is a pluralist multicultural organization designed to meet the needs of under-represented minority orthopaedic surgeons and to advance the ideals of excellent musculoskeletal care for all patients with particular attention to underserved groups.
"It will be a great privilege to contribute to the Gladden Society's mission of increasing the number of under-represented minorities in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery," said Dr. Owusu-Akyaw. Congratulations again on this achievement!
