Collaborative Summit on Health Equity and Value-Based Care in Orthopaedic Surgery
The Collaborative Summit on Health Equity and Value-Based Care in Orthopaedic Surgery is a forum hosted at Duke University. The event will focus on innovative approaches to value-based care and population health in orthopaedic surgery, emphasizing strategies to address racial healthcare disparities. It aims to foster discussions, collaborative research, and policy advocacy efforts that will improve health equity in orthopaedic surgery.
The forum will also serve as a platform for networking and idea-sharing on equitable approaches to value-based payment reform and implementation at academic medical centers.
Key Objectives:
- Value-Based Care & Population Health: Explore innovative approaches to value-based care and population health management in orthopaedic surgery.
- Networking & Collaboration: Provide a forum for networking and idea-sharing among medical students, residents, policymakers, and allied healthcare professionals.
In particular, equity-conscious approaches to fracture care and osteoarthritis will be highlighted.
Hip and Fragility Fracture Care and Prevention Programs: How do stakeholders align with health systems to decrease hospital readmissions and secondary fractures and improve cost metrics in alignment with stakeholders to achieve value-based care objectives?
Longitudinal Osteoarthritis Bundles: This approach offers comprehensive management plans covering the full spectrum of osteoarthritis care, from early diagnosis to potential joint replacement. Discussions on population health programs that optimize clinical outcomes and cost-effectiveness will be featured.
