Department of Orthopaedics Welcomes Two New Faculty Members
The Duke Department of Orthopaedics is pleased to welcome two new faculty members Heather Haeberle, MD, and Steven Parry, OD.
Heather Haeberle, MD
Heather Haeberle, MD, has joined the department as an assistant professor of orthopaedic trauma surgery.
Her clinical interests include complex lower extremity periarticular fractures, pelvic and acetabular surgery, and polytrauma. Her research interests include the biomechanics of fracture fixation and surgical education in orthopaedic trauma.
Haeberle completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at Hospital for Special Surgery in 2025, followed by an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at UTHealth Houston.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling.
Steven Parry, DO
Steven Parry, DO, has joined the department as an assistant professor in the Division of Hip Preservation.
His clinical interests include hip dysplasia, hip impingement, abductor and hamstring tendon tears, deep gluteal space pathology, and hip replacement. His research interests focus on patient-reported outcomes following hip preservation surgery, hip torsional abnormalities and postoperative protocols for hip surgery.
Parry earned his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Franciscan Health, followed by fellowships at the Ochsner Andrews Sports Medicine Institute in New Orleans and at Duke University, where he completed advanced training in hip preservation.
Parry, his wife and their 2-year-old daughter recently returned to Durham and are looking forward to becoming part of the community.
