James DeOrio Helps Disabled Children During Humanitarian Mission in Kenya

James DeOrio, MD, recently returned from Kenya, where he was selected to serve at CURE Hospital in Kijabe on a humanitarian mission for the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS). His work abroad not only supports patients and clinicians in the region but also strengthens his insights and skills, ultimately enhancing care for all patients he serves.

“The first is of me putting on a plaster cast after clubfoot surgery,” he says,” and the second is me at the Missionaries of Charity Mother Teresa Home for disabled and abandoned children in the heart of Nairobi. This little guy just came up to me and stood there until I sat him on my lap to watch some children perform a dance together.”
