James DeOrio, MD, recently returned from Kenya, Africa, where he was selected to attend CURES Hospital in Kijabe, Kenya on a humanitarian mission at the hospital for American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS). While there, he operated and provided care to disabled children from all over Kenya. Dr. DeOrio shared these pictures from his trip.
“The first is of me putting on a plaster cast after clubfoot surgery,” he says,” and the second is me at the Missionaries of Charity Mother Teresa Home for disabled and abandoned children in the heart of Nairobi. This little guy just came up to me and stood there until I sat him on my lap to watch some children perform a dance together.”
