The Duke Orthopaedics Arringdon Clinic has been abuzz with excitement during this year’s Spirit Week. From engaging activities to fostering teamwork across departments, the week showcased the vibrant community spirit and camaraderie that make the clinic unique.
One of the standout moments was Scrabble Day, held yesterday. The creative concept encouraged employees to interact and collaborate fun and competitively. Participants began the day by blindly drawing letters from the Scrabble bag, setting the stage for friendly exchanges as they raced to form high-scoring words throughout the clinic. This lighthearted challenge sparked laughter, conversation, and new connections among coworkers—many of whom hadn’t had the opportunity to interact before.
The winning word, Oxyphenbutazone, scored an impressive 41 points and exemplified the creativity that flourished during the event. A huge thank-you goes to everyone who participated in this spirited activity, helping bring all departments together in a memorable way.

Christina Durst, Medical Secretary at Duke Orthopaedics Arringdon, reflected on the day: “I truly feel it was a great way for all the different departments to come together and have fun simultaneously! It’s wonderful seeing everyone collaborate and create something special.”
As Spirit Week draws to a close, the staff looks forward to continuing this tradition and making it even bigger and better next year. From fostering teamwork to creating joyful memories, the Duke Orthopaedics Arringdon Clinic is a hub for connection and positivity.
Thank you, Christina, and the entire Arringdon team, for bringing Spirit Week to life and fostering a supportive environment that benefits both staff and patients.
