Ranffy was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States in 2014. A few years later, he became the first person in his family to attend college. He started his journey at SUNY Cortland, a small school in upstate New York. He discovered and expanded his interest in neurological disorders there thanks to his involvement with Parkinson's Disease research. In 2023, Ranffy graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Biology. In the fall of 2023, Ranffy joined the Duke Doctor of Physical Therapy class of 2026. He is eager to continue expanding his understanding of neurological diseases and research to develop a deeper appreciation for neurologic physical therapy.
