June Kennedy, PT for Sports

Dr. Kennedy is a Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, and for over 20 years has worked with the Duke Sports Medicine team increasingly focusing on shoulder rehabilitation for a variety of nonoperative and postoperative conditions. June has served as President, as well as on the research and education committees of American Shoulder and Elbow Therapists (ASSET).  She was awarded the Innovative and Accelerated Protocols for Rehabilitation of Orthopedic Injuries Research Grant by the Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation for a multicenter randomized trial of home vs. PT rehabilitation for reverse total shoulder arthroplasty with Grant Garrigues, MD.  June worked with an ASSET shoulder team to develop consensus rehabilitation guidelines for anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty.  Her primary research focuses in the area of optimizing therapy interventions for shoulder degenerative conditions.
