This week, we celebrate National Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Week, a special time to honor our APPs—including Physician Assistants/Associates, Nurse Practitioners, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Certified Midwives/Certified Nurse Midwives, and Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants.
At Duke Orthopaedics, our APPs are essential members of our care team. They are trusted partners, advocates for our patients, and a strong source of support for our entire department. They bring skill, compassion, and dedication to every patient interaction, guiding patients and families through diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and beyond. They also serve as teachers, mentors, and collaborators, helping us all improve. Our APPs lead in education and mentorship, promote teamwork across disciplines, and strengthen the culture of excellence that defines Duke.
This week, and every week, we appreciate the resilience, dedication, and compassion our APPs bring to their work. Their impact reaches beyond the lives of our patients to include the relationships they build with colleagues and the example they set for the future of orthopaedic care.
