The Duke Female Athlete Program (DFAP) team participated in the annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day event in collaboration with Duke Athletics at Cameron Indoor Stadium this month. Open to the entire community, the event welcomed more than 200 youth who spent the day engaging with Duke student‑athletes and exploring a wide variety of sports and activities. Student‑athletes from volleyball, tennis, golf, swimming and diving, field hockey, soccer, basketball, track, softball, rowing, and fencing shared their time and showed young girls and boys how to get started in their sports.
"It was a great outreach opportunity for our DFAP to continue spreading the word about how our department supports and serves female athletes in our community,’ said Jennifer Ketterly, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN, instructor in Duke Orthopaedics.”
