Duke Orthopaedics proudly celebrates the accomplishments of Dr. Cesar de Cesar Netto, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Foot and Ankle Fellowship Program Lead, on his selection as a 2025 EFAS/AOFAS Exchange Fellow.
The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS), in collaboration with the European Foot & Ankle Society (EFAS), has developed the prestigious EFAS/AOFAS Exchange Program to foster global cooperation and innovation in foot and ankle surgery. This unique program bridges continents, bringing together leading experts and emerging talents to exchange ideas, share research, and observe innovative procedures.
About the EFAS/AOFAS Exchange Program
Each year, the program enables three EFAS members to travel to prominent orthopaedic institutions in the United States and Canada. In comparison, three AOFAS members explore renowned foot and ankle sites in Europe. The Exchange Fellows attend either the AOFAS Annual Meeting or the EFAS Congress/Advanced Symposium, gaining invaluable opportunities to collaborate with leaders in foot and ankle surgery.
For 2025, the AOFAS Exchange Fellows will travel from September 20 – October 13, 2025, attending the EFAS Congress in Vilnius, Lithuania, visiting leading institutions in Oxford, United Kingdom; Marseille, France; and Vienna, Austria. The EFAS Exchange Fellows will travel from September 8 – October 5, 2025, attending the AOFAS Annual Meeting in Savannah, Georgia, and visiting world-class centers at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina; University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia; and Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
