Flavia Kapos, PhD, assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery, was a panelist in the National Institutes of Health Helping to End Addiction Long-term® Initiative (HEAL) workshop “Advancing Equity in Pain Management” this spring.
Her talk focused on expanding the “Health Equity in Pain Management” research workforce and fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, underscoring how this work strengthens care for everyone.
The NIH HEAL Initiative® is an NIH-wide effort to improve prevention and treatment strategies for opioid misuse and addiction and to enhance pain management.
