IPEC Raises Funds for the 2024 Heart Walk

The Duke Interprofessional Education and Care (IPEC) Team participated in the American Heath Association's Triangle Heart Walk earlier this month. The team—comprised of DPT, OTD, School of Nursing students, faculty, and family members—walked three miles for a great cause. The IPEC team raised nearly $2,500, and 151 Duke teams and their 1,090 walkers raised more than $100,000!

Jody Feld, PT, DPT, PhD, assistant professor, who helped lead the IPEC Team's effort, said, "Their time, effort, energy, and donations meant so much to survivors and their families and loved ones who lived with or are living with heart disease and disability post-stroke. The team also helped raise money for science that creates new medicines to lower blood pressure, fights congenital heart disease in newborn babies, greatly reduces the number of people who suffer from debilitating strokes, and so much more."
