Medical Assistants Recognition Week is celebrated annually during the third week in October.
When providers and patients think of medical assistants, the words versatility, adaptability, and compassion all come to mind. The varied skills of medical assistants set them apart from other healthcare professionals, giving them the tools to assist physicians and care for patients effectively.
They touch people’s lives daily with their extraordinary skills and caring ways. A common thread is using their skills to help others through their most challenging days. Activities include taking vital signs, drawing blood for laboratory tests, processing referrals and insurance pre-authorization, and helping with pain management and medications.
We value and appreciate the hard work and expertise provided by the dynamic Duke Orthopaedic Surgery Department Medical Assistants.
Thank you!
