Demonstrating Research Competency
Year 1:
- Select mentor and begin to develop research questions of interest.
- Set up meetings with mentors and identify areas of interest.
- All projects should start with an introduction to Dr. Chad Cook (done by your mentor)
Year 2:
- Present a scientifically rigorous proposal of a research project.
- Two (2) time slots are available Monday afternoon scientific meeting (led by Dr. Alman) held weekly at 3:30 PM
- Presentation should include;
- Background (why this project is important)
- Research Questions/Hypothesis
- Proposed Methods
- Expected Outcomes and Alternative Approaches
Years 2-5:
- Present Research Progress Annually
- Present a poster of your research progress at the Departmental Research Day and Symposium
Year 5:
- Defend Final Research Project (Senior Thesis)
- Presentation at Departmental Research Day and Symposium
