Annunziato (Ned) Amendola, MD, FAAOS, FRCSC, DABOS, division chief for sports medicine at Duke University, Virginia Flowers Baker Distinguished Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, was named first vice president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons’ (AAOS) Board of Directors.
His new role is the second in a four-year term of volunteer service, during which he will serve as president of the AAOS in 2025. He will assume the first vice president position following the AAOS 2024 Annual Meeting this week in San Francisco.
