Celebrating National Athletic Training Month

Each March, we celebrate National Athletic Training Month, recognizing the crucial contributions of athletic trainers and their vital role in healthcare. This year’s theme, “Care You Can Count On,” underscores the dedication, expertise, and commitment our athletic trainers demonstrate every day at Duke (see https://www.nata.org/advocacy/public-relations/national-athletic-training-month).

Athletic trainers work in a variety of settings, including our clinics, training rooms, and on the sports field.  They are essential members of our care team at Duke, collaborating closely with physicians and other clinicians to provide comprehensive, high-quality patient care.

Their training in injury prevention, emergency response, and rehabilitation enables them to support patients through every stage of care, often serving as the first point of contact and a steady guide throughout recovery. Their expertise improves safety, enhances outcomes, and helps athletes and active patients return to their activities safely.

This month, we proudly recognize our athletic trainers. Your professionalism, compassion, and dedication strengthen our department and exemplify patient-centered care. Thank you for supporting our mission and making a difference in the lives of our patients every day.

Please join me in celebrating and recognizing the invaluable contributions of our athletic trainers, not only in March but throughout the year.

All the best,
Ben
