Dr. Ned Amendola Inducted into AOSSM Hall of Fame

We extend our congratulations to Dr. Annunziato (Ned) Amendola, MD, professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine Division Chief, on his induction into the 2025 American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) Hall of Fame.

A Past President of AOSSM (2016–2017), Dr. Amendola was recognized for his outstanding leadership in sports medicine education, research, and international collaboration. Throughout his career, he has helped shape the direction of the Society through his involvement in traveling fellowships, mentorship, and clinical innovation.

Dr. Amendola is also a recipient of the George D. Rovere Award and the Robert E. Leach Leadership Award, both of which honor his dedication to advancing the field and mentoring future leaders.

His unwavering commitment to athlete care—both at Duke and globally—exemplifies the highest values of AOSSM and the orthopaedic community.

The 2025 Hall of Fame inductees were formally honored during the AOSSM Annual Meeting, held July 10–12 in Nashville. Please join us in celebrating Dr. Amendola and his exceptional contributions to orthopaedic sports medicine.
