Duke Orthopaedics is pleased to share that Dr. Erica Taylor has been appointed as the Hand & Wrist Section Editor for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) OrthoInfo Editorial Board. Her two-year term will begin in January 2026.
OrthoInfo is AAOS’s patient education platform, offering expert-reviewed content on musculoskeletal health and treatment. In this role, Dr. Taylor will contribute to the development of educational resources for patients and families seeking reliable orthopaedic information.
Dr. Taylor is an orthopaedic hand surgeon who also serves as Vice President of Health Equity for the Duke Health Integrated Practice, Vice Chair of Culture, Engagement & Impact in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a faculty member at the Duke Fuqua School of Business.
“I have seen firsthand how patient education transforms outcomes. In the clinic, I witness how clear explanations empower patients to make confident decisions about their care. Serving as Section Editor for Hand & Wrist allows me to unite my experiences in service to our patients and our profession. My journey with AAOS has always been about building bridges—from students to surgeons, patients to providers, and ideas to action. As Section Editor, I can bring that same bridge-building spirit to ensure OrthoInfo’s Hand & Wrist section remains authoritative, relevant, and accessible to the millions of patients and providers who rely on it.” — Dr. Erica Taylor.
Her appointment underscores Duke’s continued dedication to advancing patient education and clinical excellence. She joins fellow Duke Orthopaedics faculty members Dr. Tyler Pidgeon, MD, and Dr. Jocelyn Wittstein, MD, in this important role.
Congratulations, Dr. Taylor!
