Students Gain Hands-On Learning at the Adaptive Sports Experience

Duke DPT, OTD, and PA program students teamed up to play or observe wheelchair basketball, seated volleyball, boccia, and hand cycling on stationary trainers in a fun event on March 23 at the Brodie Recreation Center on East Campus.

The event drew athletes from the local area and as far away as Atlanta who volunteered their time to educate our students. Students will have the opportunity to follow up on their experience with an interprofessional case conference to learn more about how each profession supports clients’ engagement in sports in the community.

This year's event was funded primarily through a grant from the Duke IPEC Center.
