Dr. Myers is a board-certified sports physical therapy specialist and a certified athletic trainer who provides rehabilitation services at the Duke Sports Sciences Institute. She leads the research program for the Division of Sports Physical within the Department of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy and manages a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from concussion intervention to physical performance testing. Each year she serves as a faculty research mentor for both the Sports Physical Therapy Residency and Division I Fellowship programs. She and co-PI Chad Cook, PT, PhD, were awarded a grant from the American Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy for a project aimed to improve patient expectations of rehabilitation for rotator cuff-related shoulder pain. Her current research focus includes physical performance testing to inform return to sport decision-making with a particular interest in athletes recovering from upper extremity injuries and procedures.
