Hillsborough and Durham, NC

Where did you attend college/university?
Brown University

Where did you attend medical school?
Duke University School of Medicine

What were you looking for in a residency program?
Duke offers everything I was searching for; a world-class operative and clinical experience, top-notch faculty mentorship, extensive didactics incorporated into the curriculum, and abundant basic, translational, and clinical research opportunities. The ultimate selling factor for me, however, was the genuine family and team-based culture amongst the residents. As a North Carolina native, it’s a true honor to serve the community that molded me into the person I am today.

What are your research and clinical interests at this time?
I am passionate about basic and translational science research specializing in molecular and cell biology and biomedical engineering. Clinically, I am drawn to sports medicine, traumatology, and shoulder and elbow.

Where did you choose to live, and why?
My wife and I currently live east of Durham in a townhome community. We have a 3-year-old lab mix, so our spot provides plenty of greenspace while offering affordability and convenience to Duke.

What do you like to do outside of medicine?
Watching and playing any and all sports. Lifting weights, working out, fishing, hiking, and coaching the Orange High School wrestling team (my alma mater in Hillsborough).
