About the Duke program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a program with a tight knit group of residents and a culture of respect and support among the attendings. I also wanted a program that would offer the highest quality of training and an opportunity to pursue my career goals.
What are your research and clinical interests at this time?
I have an interest in value-based healthcare with the goal of providing the highest quality of care for patients while containing growing costs. Clinically I am looking forward to trying out the various specialties and narrowing my choices over time.

About Duke University and Durham
Where did you choose to live, and why?
My wife and I live in the downtown Durham area and we have been excited to experience the culture of a new town and to have walking access to all that Durham has to offer.
What do you like to do outside of medicine?
I enjoy spending time with my wife, playing sports or just relaxing. I also enjoy fishing, shooting, golf, and preparing BBQ.
Any other information you’d like people to know (i.e.: about your family, future plans, etc.)?
I grew up visiting my mom’s family in North Wilkesboro, NC. I am excited to make a home in NC and be closer to family.
