Dr. Diehl is an Assistant Professor at Duke in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery’s Division of Sports Medicine and Head Team Physician for Elon University. Dr. Diehl specializes in the surgical treatment of sports-related injuries of the shoulder and knee. He also takes an active role in the mission to educate university and medical students, Orthopaedic Surgery residents and Orthopaedic and Primary Care Sports Medicine fellows. Dr. Diehl’s research interests are in health of athletes at all levels, specifically overuse injuries and return to sport after surgery. He collaborates with biomechanists and physical therapists as well as his surgical colleagues at the Duke main campus. Dr. Diehl treats patients and does research at the North Carolina Orthopaedic Clinic and the Davis Ambulatory Surgery Center.
