About the Duke program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a program with a tight-knit group of residents, who were hardworking, humble, and down-to-earth. Duke stood out in this regard, while also providing a high quality orthopaedic education. I was especially impressed by the program and residents during my month-long rotation there, and felt like the Duke residents were the type of individuals and surgeons I wanted to become.
What are your research and clinical interests at this time?
I have broad interests in all areas of Orthopaedics, though my research until this point has been in arthroplasty.
About Duke University and Durham
Where did you choose to live, and why?
I live 15 minutes from the hospital. My wife and I were looking for a place to start a family and remain close to other residents in the program.
What do you like to do outside of medicine?
Spend time with my wife and learn how to be a good dad. Lift weights, play intramural sports, and golf. Every Saturday in the fall is spent watching Notre Dame football.
