Morehouse College

I did a two-year research fellowship at NIH

Duke University School of Medicine

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a well-rounded program, that had a strong culture amongst the residents and attendings as well as great operative exposure to all subspecialties within orthopaedics.

What are your research and clinical interests at this time?

I am interested in health disparities within orthopaedics, shoulder research, trauma, and clinical outcomes research but also open to all other areas at this time.

Where did you choose to live, and why?
I chose to stay in the same apartment that I lived in during medical school, which is very close to the hospital, off Morreene Road. It is an ideal location where everything is typically only 10 minutes or less away.

What do you like to do outside of medicine?
I am a former athlete and I really enjoy playing pick-up basketball, working out, hanging with friends and family, watching movies, NBA fantasy basketball, traveling, and playing chess and cards.

Any other information you’d like people to know (i.e.: about your family, future plans, etc.)
I am the first physician in my entire family and plan to continue to be a trailblazer for others interested in orthopaedics from similar backgrounds.
