Dr. Anakwenze is an associate professor in the Department of Orthopedics at Duke University specializing in shoulder surgery. He has been involved and executed numerous clinical studies in the field of shoulder diseases and surgery. Most of his work has been focused on shoulder arthroplasty and rotator cuff disease. This includes understanding predictive factors of outcomes after shoulder replacement. He is an inventor and entrepreneur; he co-founded one of the earliest outpatient joint replacement centers in California. He has a focus on outpatient shoulder replacements in the academic setting and cost-effective healthcare strategies. Dr. Anakwenze sees patients and does research from the Arringdon and Sports Sciences clinic. He operates from the Arringdon Ambulatory Surgery Center, Duke Ambulatory Surgery Center, and the Duke North Hospital.
