Please join me in congratulating Alison Toth, MD, on her Duke University Health System (DUHS) Board of Directors appointment.
Alison is our department’s Executive Vice Chair and a member of our sports medicine division, serving as a team orthopaedist for many sports teams at Duke and NC Central. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Toth serves several leadership roles related to clinical quality, faculty development, resident development, and our more extensive clinical practice. She also holds national leadership roles, such as program chair in sports medicine.
She tirelessly works to improve our department and Duke, providing exceptional care to all her patients. In addition to these publicly facing characteristics and roles, I have found her among the hardest-working, selfless, ethical, and caring people I have ever worked with. She is incredibly supportive of our department and me.
The formal announcement states, "Alison brings a unique blend of experience, leadership, and clinical care expertise to guide DUHS into innovative and resourceful directions. Her valuable insight and expertise will help shape the future of our health system and strengthen healthcare delivery to our community.” Undoubtedly, she will bring all her skills and insight to ensure Duke Health is on the right path forward.
