Predictors of Population Mental Health in Montana: An Occupational Justice Perspective

OTD faculty members Antoine L. Bailliard, PhD, MS, OTR/L, Associate Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery, and Emily M. D’AgostinoDPH, MS, MEd, MA, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Medicine and Director of Community-Engaged Research Practice, recently published a study demonstrating that population-level analyses can demonstrate occupational injustices and their impact on population health.

This article aimed to examine whether population-level occupational factors are related to the mental health of Montanans.

A population-level analysis of Montana County Health Rankings using an occupational justice perspective revealed that food insecurity and insufficient sleep were associated with poor mental health days and frequent mental health distress.
