Tyler Pidgeon, MD, associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, has been appointed the inaugural physician vice president for the Duke Health Musculoskeletal & Rehabilitation Service Line, effective Aug. 1.
As senior clinical leader for the service line, Pidgeon will help strengthen integration across orthopaedics, sports medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical and occupational therapy, ambulatory services and inpatient care throughout Duke Health.
A member of the Duke faculty since 2018, Pidgeon joined the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery following fellowship training at Duke. He currently serves as clinical associate vice chair for the department and has played a key role in advancing clinical operations and patient care initiatives.
In addition to his clinical and academic work, Pidgeon has held national leadership roles within the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is a dedicated educator and mentor to residents and fellows and is known for advancing innovation in orthopaedic surgery through research, education and emerging technologies.
In his new role, Pidgeon will lead efforts to enhance collaboration across the musculoskeletal and rehabilitation continuum, supporting Duke Health’s commitment to coordinated, high-quality patient care while advancing its clinical, research and educational missions.
