Grand Rounds CME Credit Process

Notice: The Duke Continuing Education office uses the ETHOS database to track CME credit. Currently, the ETHOS system is not generating "confirmation" texts. The ETHOS staff are working to correct this issue.  In the meantime, please know that the ETHOS system is tracking attendance.  To confirm your credit, you are welcome to check your transcript or log your attendance online (instead of texting).

CME JOINTLY ACCREDITATION
The Duke University Health System Department of Clinical Education and Professional Development and Orthopaedic Surgery has planned and implemented this activity to advance patient care. The Duke University Health System Department of Clinical Education and Professional Development is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing education for the health care team.

CME CREDIT DESIGNATION
Physician Credit: Duke University Health System Department of Clinical Education and Professional Development designates this Grand Rounds activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The physician must attend the CME activity, 
have an active ETHOS account, and text their attendance (with the weekly text code) to 919-213-8033 on the event day between 6:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. GME Trainees are not eligible for CME credit.

Nurse Credit: Duke University Health System Department of Clinical Education and Professional Development designates this activity for up to 1.0 credit hours for nurses. Nurses should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in this activity. The nurse must attend the CME activity, have an active ETHOS account, and text their attendance (with the weekly text code) to 919-213-8033 on the day of the event between 6:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. 

ETHOS SYSTEM ACCOUNT INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Go to the Duke Continuing Education website.
  2. Select => DUKEHealth JA login (top right corner) and log in with your Duke Net ID and password.
  3. Once logged in, select => My Account (top right corner)
  4. Under My Account, 1) select => edit, 2) then =>mobile, and finally 3) add your mobile telephone number
    1. Once you have successfully set up your account (with your mobile), you may begin texting your weekly GR attendance.
    2. Text attendance to 919-213-8033 (with the weekly text code) between 6:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on the event day.

CME TARGET AUDIENCE
Faculty, Fellows, Residents, Postdoctoral Associates/Fellows, Students, Physician Assistants, Nurses, and countless learners Duke-wide.

CME LEARNING OBJECTIVE
Review and discuss data/references from national/international literature reporting on proven, varied, and/or new methods of assessment/treatment of the broad spectrum of musculoskeletal system diseases/injuries, followed by a Q&A open discussion. Review, present, and openly discuss the anatomy and pathology makeup of musculoskeletal symptoms covering the entire system in one year as related to correct diagnosis methods of treatment and results.

  1. Visit this site.
  2. Login (top right) with Net ID (Duke Staff) or OneLink.
  3. Enter the SMS code for attendance confirmation.
  4. Click "submit" - You will receive a message: Your attendance has been recorded.

CME TRANSCRIPT
The instructions for printing a transcript are as follows. If you need assistance or have technical difficulties, email CEPD-JAC@dm.duke.edu.

  1. Visit the Duke Continuing Education web site.
  2. Login (top right) with Net ID (Duke Staff) or OneLink.
  3. Select “My Transcript” tab.
  4. Enter dates (i.e. 01/01/20__ to 12/31/__).
  5. Then select “apply.”
  6. And finally, select “Download PDF.”
