Celebrating Our Physician Assistants

Please join me in recognizing, celebrating, and thanking our Physician Assistants (PAs) during National PA Week. Our PAs provide the highest quality care for our patients and community. Their contributions are a cornerstone of healthcare, especially in our department. We are grateful for their tireless work for our patients and our department.

National Physician Assistant (PA) Week holds special significance at Duke, as Dr. Eugene Stead founded the PA profession here in 1965. This week coincides with the graduation date of the first PA class, which also marks Dr. Stead's birthday on October 6.

Please take a moment this week to thank our PAs for their outstanding efforts, knowledge, compassion, and expertise. Their work benefits our department and significantly impacts the lives of our patients. We could only achieve what we do with their exceptional contributions.

All the best

Ben
