The Duke Female Athlete Program (DFAP) team participated in the annual National Girls Women in Sports Day event in collaboration with Duke Athletics at Cameron Indoor Stadium this month. The event welcomed more than 200 girls and youth who came through the gates to spend time with our Duke student-athletes and play and try a variety of sports and activities. Student-athletes from volleyball, tennis, golf, swimming and diving, field hockey, soccer, basketball, track, softball, rowing, and fencing showed young girls and boys how to get started in their sports.
According to Jennifer Ketterly, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN, instructor, Duke Orthopaedics, "It was a great outreach opportunity for our DFAP to continue to spread the word of how our department is supporting and serving the female athletes in our community."
