We are pleased to announce several leadership promotions that reinforce our clinic structure and ensure consistent support across all Duke Orthopaedics locations. As our clinical footprint continues to expand, these organizational enhancements establish a unified operational approach that benefits both hospital‑based and non‑hospital‑based clinics.
These changes also reflect the evolving scope of the Practice Administrator role, which now includes broader responsibilities and cross-site oversight. By aligning all Practice Administrators under the Ambulatory Operations Directors—Erik Carvalho, DPT, MHA, OCS, PT, and John Bonini—and in close partnership with Raymond Malaguti, PA-C, MPAS, and department leaders, we are building a more integrated leadership model that promotes scalability, shared accountability, and operational consistency across the entire system.
This strengthened structure will provide more reliable and consistent support for providers and staff by enhancing coordination across all clinic sites and establishing a clear, unified leadership framework. By aligning Practice Administrators under the Ambulatory Operations Directors and integrating their work closely with departmental leadership, the model promotes shared accountability, improved communication, and a more streamlined approach to managing both hospital-based and non-hospital-based clinics. Together, these changes create a scalable and resilient operational system designed to elevate patient care, support continued growth, and ensure dependable, high‑quality operations across the entire Duke Orthopaedics network.
The following team members have been promoted into key roles that will help strengthen our operational structure:
- Erik Carvalho, DPT, MHA, OCS, PT, Ambulatory Operations Director (AOD)

- Linnette Serrano, Practice Administrator for Arringdon Orthopaedics
