Two Duke Orthopaedics Researchers Publish in Nature Communications
Two Duke Department of Orthopaedic Surgery researchers were part of a team that published, Spinal Cord Repair is Modulated by the Neurogenic Factor Hb-egf Under Direction of a Regeneration-Associated Enhancer in Nature Communications. The findings may lead to novel targets to enhance spinal cord regeneration and recovery after spinal cord injury.
Blake Boggess, DO, Represents the U.S. Medical Team for the World University Games in Chengdu, China
The 31st Summer World University Games in Chengdu, China, were officially declared open by Xi Jinping, the President of the People’s Republic of China, on July 28. Blake Boggess, DO, was among three U.S. doctors providing medical coverage for the American team. Dr. Boggess also organized a medical symposium to collaborate and discuss similarities and differences in Eastern and Western medicine.
Cleveland Clinic Scholar to Join DPT Faculty
Joshua Johnson, DPT, PhD, assistant professor of medicine and director of Outcomes Research for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Cleveland Clinic, will soon join the faculty of the Doctor of Physical Therapy division.
He begins on January 1, 2024, and will be an assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Clinical Research Lead for the Department of Rehabilitation Services for Duke University Health System.
Ashley Jones Promoted to RASR Zone 2 Role
We are pleased to announce that Ashley Jones has accepted the Grants and Contracts Manager position in Research Administration Support Resources (RASR) Zone 2, supporting the federal and foundation portfolio for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Ashley has been part of the RASR team since 2017 and has been a grant administrator for the Ortho Surgery Department for the last five years.
