The Duke Department of Orthopaedic Surgery’s Clinical Research Unit (CRU) is key to advancing musculoskeletal care through innovation and collaboration. It supports clinical research by facilitating access to pre-and post-award funding from industry, foundation, and federal sources.

The CRU is central to expanding Duke Orthopaedics' research across engineering, cellular sciences, and population biology. In addition to clinical research, the CRU has been instrumental in growing industry-funded projects, particularly those focused on medical device functionality, to improve patient outcomes and scientific discovery.
