Grant Submission Guide

Duke MyResearchHome provides an overview of your current grants and funding opportunities, including internal and external awards. This is an excellent starting point for faculty seeking funding to support their research.

Before Submitting a Grant:
- In MyResearchHome, click ‘Submit A Request’ and then ‘Intent to Submit’. Complete the form to notify the grants team of your planned submission.
- Submit this form as early as possible to allow sufficient time for review.
- If submitted too late, the School of Medicine may not review the application, and the grant could become ineligible, even if awarded.
- Beginning this process at least 30 business days before the sponsor's deadline is recommended.
- In MyResearchHome, click ‘Submit A Request’ and then ‘Intent to Submit’. Complete the form to notify the grants team of your planned submission.

Duke Orthopaedics has a Grants and Contracts team that supports faculty with grant preparation, submission, and post-award administration. Your point of contact for financial review may vary depending on the type of study:

Piedmont Society Gifts

The Piedmont Orthopedic Society is the oldest and largest orthopedic alumni association in the United States. Each year, the society supports resident and faculty research through gifts awarded to the Principal Investigator (PI).
- A call for submissions is sent annually to Duke Orthopaedic residents, fellows, and faculty in May/June, with a submission deadline of July 1st.
- Funding amounts vary based on the project and its needs.
